Higashiyama

Higashiyama celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. The second generation owner-chef uses traditional Japanese cooking techniques handed down from his father to come up with creative dishes with his son, who studied Italian cooking. Take, for example, the grilled madai, cooked with myoga, naganegi  onions and other flavourings between the skin and flesh; the fragrance of the herbs brings out the delicate taste of the meat. Sit at the counter and you will be entertained by the eloquent proprietress.
